Article: An Imminent Turning Point

Dear Eugenia:

I was born at 12:25 a.m. on 6 May 1972. Around January 2000, Saturn will return to its position in my natal chart, Gemini. My question is this: What significant effects, if any, will the fact that Saturn, Mars, and Venus are all in Gemini (and retrograde, I believe) in my natal chart have on my Saturn return? (or, more generally, what types of influences can I expect during my Saturn return?)

First of all your natal Mars and Venus are not situated close enough to your natal Saturn in order to form a conjunction. Therefore, I would be more concerned with your natal Saturn opposite your natal Neptune when your Saturn returns strikes between May and July of next year and January and March of 2002. With your natal Moon well aspected to both your natal Saturn and Neptune however I feel comfortable saying that it shouldn't be too difficult. Usually your Saturn return results in reevaluating your life. It is a turning point for most people. In your case it will be in an area that deals with such things as making a move from one state to another (which I might add should be favorable) or deciding to further your education for self-purpose or for career advancement. It can also be a time that children will play a role in your life or that you could be taken advantage of financially. It is not a time that you should trust just anyone, especially with your money. You may want to reconsider the way you spend your spare time socializing. If you have been overindulgent it may be the time to cut back or quit altogether. Saturn is a disciplinarian, a teacher, we are to learn from our past mistakes and use this period of renewed awareness to sort through the clutter in our lives and move on in a positive and refreshed manner. You shouldn't fight Saturn influences, but instead learn to accept the situation you are in and find the most suitable way to make the changes necessary to better your life.

Article: A Class Struggle

Dear Eugenia,

Two years ago I had a serious car accident & fell into a deep depression. I met someone very special at the end of this difficult year, and he helped and supported me. This loving relationship I had never experienced before, & slowly we grew closer, & I got stronger, both physically & mentally. The problem is my family. They do not approve of my relationship, & have fought me every step of the way. I still live with my parents, & we have always been close, but they are very controlling & demanding of who I choose to marry. Rather than seeing the positive influences he has brought to my life, & trying to get to know him, they refuse to see or even speak his name, for the simple reason that he is younger (3 years), & does not share my educational or financial background. To me, these things do not matter. He has so many special qualities, & has ambition to succeed, that I don't doubt my future with him, but my family ridicules & puts him down and threatens me with disowning me, painting an ugly picture of my future struggle & a miserable life! I can't take the pressure and stress, & until I move out, how do I deal with their threats, & guilt that I am letting them down? I was born Feb.23/69, at 1:00 AM and he was born Aug.13/72. He has stuck by me through everything, I can't think of leaving him, but must I choose between him and my family? Will I indeed suffer for the rest of my life if I walk away from my family to be with him? Does educational level and a person's financial status really matter most? Am I as naive as they accuse me of? Please give me your comments on my dilemma. Thank you.

You do match up to your Leo partner however the comparison also denotes that deception and disillusionment are prevalent when dealing with friends and family. Your family is only looking out for your best interest and possibly your parents feel that you and your Leo partner were not up front regarding your intentions. I think that you may want to approach the situation from the stand point that if your Leo partner is indeed that dedicated to you he should be willing to sign a prenuptial agreement that will not give him any rights to your family's estate. This should put your family at ease and should allow you the freedom to proceed with your plans. Although you did not include your parents birth data I can see in your chart that at an emotional level you have probably always been manipulated to some degree by your parents. I feel that they have probably done this out of love and that should you make the decision to follow your heart that they will eventually accept the situation. This is not an ideal answer however because it is important that your family likes and approves of your partner if you wish to have favorable interaction with them in the future.

Article: Cancer's Romantic Profile

Dear Eugenia,

My sun sign is in Cancer, I was born July 7, 1979, at 12:15 AM, and I've read enough on astrology to know that I should be compatible with both Virgo and Pisces. My past two relationships were with each, and although lengthy, they proved difficult.I think it may have something to do with my Aries rising. I'm afraid the aggressive nature so common in the ram is a bit intimidating, especially when the aggressor is female. My last fling was with an Aries male, and although at first there were sparks, it quickly diminished. I realize that other aspects affect astrological matchmaking, but I'd like to get your opinion on the matter. What male sign can handle both the Aries stubbornness, and the crab's ultra-sensitivity? My moon is in Sagittarius.

Actually in your particular case the Sun sign match up doesn't work all that well. Normally you should get along well with both Virgo and Scorpio. However, the sign Scorpio falls in an area of your chart that deals with dead end projects so it's unlikely to work. To add to this your natal Jupiter and Mercury are in the sign Leo adversely aspected to the sign Scorpio. The sign Virgo falls in an area that deals with work not personal matters such as relationships plus you have your natal Mars in Gemini and your natal Neptune in Sagittarius and that would clearly play havoc with a strong Virgo. Having your natal Sun in the 4th house adversely aspected to your natal Pluto in the 7th leads me to believe that you will have difficulty with relationships. Now that doesn't mean that you can't have a happy union. Especially with your natal Moon, Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury well aspected to the Pluto in your 7th but it does mean that you will have to choose your partner wisely and realize that relationships don't just happen, they require work, dedication, devotion and perseverance. You match up well to those born under the signs, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius. I suggest that you always run a comparison before you decide to get serious and intimate with someone. Although a person can be born under one of these signs it does not mean that they will have a lot of their natal planets in that sign and this could result in difficulties once again.
