For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.

I was born at 12:25 a.m. on 6 May 1972. Around January 2000, Saturn will return to its position in my natal chart, Gemini. My question is this: What significant effects, if any, will the fact that Saturn, Mars, and Venus are all in Gemini (and retrograde, I believe) in my natal chart have on my Saturn return? (or, more generally, what types of influences can I expect during my Saturn return?)

First of all your natal Mars and Venus are not situated close enough to your natal Saturn in order to form a conjunction. Therefore, I would be more concerned with your natal Saturn opposite your natal Neptune when your Saturn returns strikes between May and July of next year and January and March of 2002. With your natal Moon well aspected to both your natal Saturn and Neptune however I feel comfortable saying that it shouldn't be too difficult. Usually your Saturn return results in reevaluating your life. It is a turning point for most people. In your case it will be in an area that deals with such things as making a move from one state to another (which I might add should be favorable) or deciding to further your education for self-purpose or for career advancement. It can also be a time that children will play a role in your life or that you could be taken advantage of financially. It is not a time that you should trust just anyone, especially with your money. You may want to reconsider the way you spend your spare time socializing. If you have been overindulgent it may be the time to cut back or quit altogether. Saturn is a disciplinarian, a teacher, we are to learn from our past mistakes and use this period of renewed awareness to sort through the clutter in our lives and move on in a positive and refreshed manner. You shouldn't fight Saturn influences, but instead learn to accept the situation you are in and find the most suitable way to make the changes necessary to better your life.

I need your advice. My girlfriend left me ten months ago and I have been trying my best since to recover. We were together for about two years. I have been trying to work for personal goals in order to better my life: counseling and I am in the process of applying to law school. I am unable to get over her. I have respected her wishes and left the situation alone but I keep hoping for a second chance. I am constantly plagues by self-doubt. Aside from the heartbreak, I am studying for law school and I am uncertain about what school will accept me and whether to stay in New York City because it constantly reminds me of the past. Am I waiting and hoping in vain for my ex-girlfriend. If you have any advice or insight into the relationship or school please help. Thank you.

You didn't mention your ex-girlfriend's date of birth so I can't run a comparison between the two of you or even tell you what she might be thinking but I can tell you that you have been going through a very depressing time with transiting Saturn crossing over your ascendant and this has probably accounted for some of the trouble you are having letting go. Although this transit is still plaguing you there are good things that it can be used for. Education, self-improvement and in general feeling better about you are just a few ways to use up the energy that Saturn brings with it. It is apparent that you are trying to do all of these things and so I feel confident that you will get through it. With your natal Venus in the sign Capricorn well aspected to both your natal Mars and Jupiter I can not imagine you remaining single once the Saturn transit passes as a matter of fact there is evidence that you will probably meet someone through a friend, work, school, while traveling or even over the internet so don't give up. I must tell you however that between now and the summer of next year I really feel that you are best to put your time and effort into your educational pursuits and leave the whole relationship thing until later next year when you will have a better handle on what you really want in a partner. You match up well to those born under the signs Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn. This is not the time to look back or to live in the past and although transiting Saturn can have a tendency to make you do just that it is important that you look forward and work toward your goals. You actually do best with partners who are either a bit older or a bit younger. The partners your own age can be a problem. I don't know how many letters you have received regarding gay relationships, but I'm sure this won't be your first. I've been with my boyfriend for three months now, he is an Aquarius born on February 12, 1979. I am a Cancer born on July 8, 1978, at 2:11 in the afternoon.
We've been experiencing some difficulties within the integrity of the relationship. As a Cancer, I tend to be very smothering, and sometimes I can inundate an individual too much. My boyfriend recently told me that he wants to take a break because he is confused. He became very cold and insipid in the last week, and seemed to be very standoffish. The area in your chart that deals with relationships is going through a make it or break it period. The summer is a perfect time for you to take a break from your confused Aquarius partner. You need time as well. You are correct to say that your comparison wasn?t great, workable yes, but not easy. I can tell that you will be coming into a high cycle next summer that should bring someone into your life who is probably better for you. If you let this Aquarius fill the void in your life he will only be standing in the way when someone terrific wants to be with you. This could cause you to miss out on a relationship that could be the love of your life. Your Aquarius is going through a period that is extremely confusing. He is uncertain about himself and his future. He doesn?t really know what he wants and although he is capable of remaining loyal it is not one of his priorities. You are sensitive and willing to be blind to the problems that the two of you are facing. You will not win in this situation if you do try to make it work.
