I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.
For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

Dear Eugenia,
I need your help! I have tried for a response before, but came up empty. I adore your column and hope you can advise me on my situation. I am a 38-year old mother of two who has been overweight ever since I had my first child. My father's death (which was close in the proximity of having my children) threw it over the edge. I feel that I need to lose weight and become healthier if not for me, for the sake of my children. I want to see them grow up and be successful. I am planning on starting a diet next week and I was curious about the timing. Does my chart indicate a success for me losing the weight? I have tried all the fad diets and pills, and they just don't work. Thank you for your time!

It is never a good time to start a diet when transiting Jupiter is in conjunction with your natal Sun and Mercury and unfortunately that is the case until the end of May of next year. You must however try to at least maintain your weight during this period without getting discouraged. Therefore yes the diet is a must but coupled with exercise and the expectation that you will not put on any more weight. After that period when transiting Saturn starts to approach your natal Venus followed by your natal Mercury and then the Sun you will have a much better chance of losing the excess weight. This is a long process but certainly a worthwhile one and one that you can achieve. You must however be prepared to incorporate exercise, diet, a means to boost your ego and help you to feel good about yourself again. I suggest joining a group that will give you the support you need along with a fitness center for women where you will get the encouragement as well.

I'm 33 years old. I'm a professional actress born March 18, 1969, at 1:15 PM. I migrate between New York and Los Angeles with the work. I graduated from drama school in New York when I was 24 and at that time my career developed somewhat too rapidly -in the sense that I was really not personally equipped to deal with the really exceptional professional opportunities that came my way so quickly. I had a lot of emotional, and I would say spiritual, issues that needed dealing with. I had quite a difficult time of it until around '98/'99 when I began to reform my life by slowing down professionally somewhat, and focusing seriously on healing. I also had some health issues come up around that time which sort of reinforced this move. And it has been very important and very positive for me. But given that I was working and campaigning for acting parts a great deal less (in an intensely competitive field), my career has suffered. I've been trying to decide about where to pick up the pieces. I still! Love acting and I've invested a lot of myself in it, but considering my age -I don't want to waste energy if it's not going anyplace. I'm also thinking about branching off into writing -playwriting. What do you think is the best move I can make for my career and my future? Thank you.

Your chart indicates that you have just moved into another high cycle regarding work and that it will be with you until the end of next year. I feel strongly that you should be pursuing what you love and giving it you're all but I also do believe that you have an ability where writing is concerned so I wouldn't like to see you miss out in that area either. I think that the year ahead will be a very busy one for you but certainly satisfying and worthwhile if you spread yourself a little thin and try to do it all. The area of your chart that deals with publishing and creativity is looking good as well so it is important that you do follow through in that area as well. It is always difficult when you are in a creative field because it is hard to make a living however I don't feel in your case that you are wasting your time. The only problem or trouble you will experience is if you don't give it your all and you become lazy along the way. Buckle down and prepare to utilize the next eighteen months to develop and expand your horizons in both the field of acting as well as playwriting. My birthday is May 30/75, at 10:40 AM, my boyfriend's is Aug.24/72 I just found out that I am pregnant with my third child. This is my fifth pregnancy, but I had previous miscarriages. My question is I am just finishing up my upgrading and will be graduating this June. My baby isn't due until January. The thing is my school counselor's thinks I should put off continuing into a trade for about a year. I am not so sure I would like to do that. You see I struggled to get this far, I don't seem to want to stop. I am trying to go forward and become a financial advisor, but first I need another year of schooling. Do you have ANY SUGGESTION FOR ME?
I have two boys and one on the way that I need to support financially. My boyfriend doesn't seem to want to realize that this is something I need to do for myself. For four years of our six year relationship we have been living with his mom, and I want to be able to move out and have our own place, going forward into getting a job I may be able to move us. That is one of many reasons I need a job.

You should give yourself a pat on the back and keep on moving in the direction that will bring you the highest rewards. The more education that you can get the better. You have to put yourself in a position that will allow you to support your children and your boyfriend should understand that. If he is not able to support your desires and wishes you should question how much he truly cares about you. Your chart indicates that you should continue your studies however it would not hurt you to take time off until after the baby is born. The educational area of your chart will be in a high cycle for the next few months but by October you will move into a period that might be difficult to pursue your goals. You will find however that if you wait until the spring of next year that you will once again have the ability to do well in your educational pursuits. Set your goals and your priorities and don't look back. You do match up well to your boyfriend however emotional deception may be a problem. He might find your desire to improve yourself threatening and therefore you must compensate for this in order to put his mind at ease.
