For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

I need your help! I have tried for a response before, but came up empty. I adore your column and hope you can advise me on my situation. I am a 38-year old mother of two who has been overweight ever since I had my first child. My father's death (which was close in the proximity of having my children) threw it over the edge. I feel that I need to lose weight and become healthier if not for me, for the sake of my children. I want to see them grow up and be successful. I am planning on starting a diet next week and I was curious about the timing. Does my chart indicate a success for me losing the weight? I have tried all the fad diets and pills, and they just don't work. Thank you for your time!

It is never a good time to start a diet when transiting Jupiter is in conjunction with your natal Sun and Mercury and unfortunately that is the case until the end of May of next year. You must however try to at least maintain your weight during this period without getting discouraged. Therefore yes the diet is a must but coupled with exercise and the expectation that you will not put on any more weight. After that period when transiting Saturn starts to approach your natal Venus followed by your natal Mercury and then the Sun you will have a much better chance of losing the excess weight. This is a long process but certainly a worthwhile one and one that you can achieve. You must however be prepared to incorporate exercise, diet, a means to boost your ego and help you to feel good about yourself again. I suggest joining a group that will give you the support you need along with a fitness center for women where you will get the encouragement as well.

I have this wonderful friend in my life that I share so much with. We travel together, make art, shop, talk for hours, go on midnight adventures, love the same food, find each other hilarious, hug every time we say goodbye, and can't spend two days apart. I haven't had a man in my life, long term, for over three years. This guy seems to have found his way into my life, and my heart, but is it more than friendship? What are the possibilities for us? My birthday is Feb 12/76 (4:15pm), his is June 27/75 (4:15am). I was told that my moon is Cancer (his sun), and his moon is Aquarius (my sun). Is that right? What does that mean for us? The comparison does show a definite admiration between the two of you. I am a big believer that you have to be friends before you become lovers. That doesn't mean that you won't have chemistry. The stronger the chemistry is the more important it is to go slow and build the friendship first. In your particular case you do have your Moon in Cancer and he does have his Moon in Aquarius and this is a start. The problem I feel that you are facing is that even though he was born under the warm Cancer sign he has a few elements in his chart that tell me he is not going to want to settle down at a young age. I had a happy family. Things changed when I met another man. He was single at that time and we fell in love quickly. Since I had a husband, I couldn't promise to marry him. One day, he told me that he had married a girl living in China. He went to China to meet this girl after seeing her photo and they got married. I was not informed until he came back to Taiwan. He apologized and explained that he did it for his family because he needed to pass on the generations. He cried and begged me to forgive him and asked me to wait for him for three years. He said that after their first child was born, no matter boy or girl, he would leave her. I promised and separated with my husband. After I have divorced, his daughter was born. But he said that his wife wanted to try for a boy. His attitude becomes cooler and cooler. He seldom contacts me. I discovered that he was tender and gentle to his wife. If I ask him, he will be rude to me. I beg him but he doesn't care for me any more.
