Dear Eugenia,

I need your help! I have tried for a response before, but came up empty. I adore your column and hope you can advise me on my situation. I am a 38-year old mother of two who has been overweight ever since I had my first child. My father's death (which was close in the proximity of having my children) threw it over the edge. I feel that I need to lose weight and become healthier if not for me, for the sake of my children. I want to see them grow up and be successful. I am planning on starting a diet next week and I was curious about the timing. Does my chart indicate a success for me losing the weight? I have tried all the fad diets and pills, and they just don't work. Thank you for your time!

Dear Need to Change

It is never a good time to start a diet when transiting Jupiter is in conjunction with your natal Sun and Mercury and unfortunately that is the case until the end of May of next year. You must however try to at least maintain your weight during this period without getting discouraged. Therefore yes the diet is a must but coupled with exercise and the expectation that you will not put on any more weight. After that period when transiting Saturn starts to approach your natal Venus followed by your natal Mercury and then the Sun you will have a much better chance of losing the excess weight. This is a long process but certainly a worthwhile one and one that you can achieve. You must however be prepared to incorporate exercise, diet, a means to boost your ego and help you to feel good about yourself again. I suggest joining a group that will give you the support you need along with a fitness center for women where you will get the encouragement as well.

Dear Eugenia

I'm 33 years old. I'm a professional actress born March 18, 1969, at 1:15 PM. I migrate between New York and Los Angeles with the work. I graduated from drama school in New York when I was 24 and at that time my career developed somewhat too rapidly -in the sense that I was really not personally equipped to deal with the really exceptional professional opportunities that came my way so quickly. I had a lot of emotional, and I would say spiritual, issues that needed dealing with. I had quite a difficult time of it until around '98/'99 when I began to reform my life by slowing down professionally somewhat, and focusing seriously on healing. I also had some health issues come up around that time which sort of reinforced this move. And it has been very important and very positive for me. But given that I was working and campaigning for acting parts a great deal less (in an intensely competitive field), my career has suffered. I've been trying to decide about where to pick up the pieces. I still! Love acting and I've invested a lot of myself in it, but considering my age -I don't want to waste energy if it's not going anyplace. I'm also thinking about branching off into writing -playwriting. What do you think is the best move I can make for my career and my future? Thank you.

Your chart indicates that you have just moved into another high cycle regarding work and that it will be with you until the end of next year. I feel strongly that you should be pursuing what you love and giving it you're all but I also do believe that you have an ability where writing is concerned so I wouldn't like to see you miss out in that area either. Hi, Eugenia!

I have been using this wonderful site even before its Japanese version opened! I would like to ask your opinion on two men who are currently in my life. My birthday is 7/8/1973, and I was born around 7. I have been with this Gemini guy (6/15/1975) for five years. We maintained a steady, comfortable, and very fun relationship since meeting each other in college. But about a year ago, I found out that he cheated on me. He deeply regrets hurting me and promises me that he would never cheat on me again. I still care about him and hope that we could be a happy couple again. We have been trying to work things out but I still feel insecure. I fear that he will hurt me again in the future. Then, there is another guy, a Leo whose birthday is 8/5/75. We work together in a design office. Not only he is an attractive young man, but also he has been a great inspiration for me in my design work. You do match up well to both men in question however your current Gemini boyfriend's comparison to you does indicate emotional deception. In the case of your Leo friend some sorrow is evident. I believe that you are sitting between a rock and a hard place. For the time being I feel that you have to give your Gemini partner more time to build a strong friendship with your Leo. After all lovers come and go but friends are with you forever. The only other alternative that you have is to back away from both and take some time for yourself. However, if you do so you may lose out on both counts. Your chart indicates that you are in a high cycle where work and meeting important and influential people are concerned, building friendships and pleasure travel. It is obvious with transiting Neptune sitting opposite to your natal Venus for the past couple of months that you will be confused regarding love and although you will get some relief from July until mid January it will come back to haunt you at that time on and off until the early part of 2004.
