I'm not sure if this message qualifies for submission, but here is my question. My boyfriend is a Capricorn and I am an Aries, which do not match according to Zodiac signs. But when I complete the romance compatibility we match 99%. So which is right? My birthday is 4/8/70 2pm, His is 1/8/65 don't know time. We don't suffer from the problems stated under a Zodiac match, Aries spending too much and Capricorn being frugal, in fact it is opposite for us. I just want to understand how the zodiac and charts differ so much.

I'm not the least bit surprised that you match up to your Capricorn partner nor that you have some role reversals regarding frugality. Your chart denotes that you only have your natal Sun in Aries and natal Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn in the frugal sign Taurus. Your boyfriend only has his natal Sun in the sign Capricorn with his Mercury and Venus in the more easy-going, spend if you want, sign Sagittarius. I need your help! I have tried for a response before, but came up empty. I adore your column and hope you can advise me on my situation. I am a 38-year old mother of two who has been overweight ever since I had my first child. My father's death (which was close in the proximity of having my children) threw it over the edge. I feel that I need to lose weight and become healthier if not for me, for the sake of my children. I want to see them grow up and be successful. I am planning on starting a diet next week and I was curious about the timing. Does my chart indicate a success for me losing the weight? I have tried all the fad diets and pills, and they just don't work. Thank you for your time!

It is never a good time to start a diet when transiting Jupiter is in conjunction with your natal Sun and Mercury and unfortunately that is the case until the end of May of next year. You must however try to at least maintain your weight during this period without getting discouraged. Therefore yes the diet is a must but coupled with exercise and the expectation that you will not put on any more weight. After that period when transiting Saturn starts to approach your natal Venus followed by your natal Mercury and then the Sun you will have a much better chance of losing the excess weight. This is a long process but certainly a worthwhile one and one that you can achieve. You must however be prepared to incorporate exercise, diet, a means to boost your ego and help you to feel good about yourself again. I suggest joining a group that will give you the support you need along with a fitness center for women where you will get the encouragement as well.

I have been friends with a lady for 5 years and we have been dating for 2 years of that time. I am Aries born 31/3/1978 not sure the time and my girlfriend was born 23/9/1971 not sure on time.
About 2 weeks ago she split with me one day and went straight over to another guy the next day. Even though she said she was going to think about us. I found out now that they have been fully seeing each other and she already says she loves him. Why I am writing to you is I was wondering what would have been the better match for her.
He was born on the 24/9/1973 not sure the time. What I have read on the net is a lot and I figured out that I think that she and I would have been a better match for each other than her and this other guy. Could you please tell me up front if a Libra and an Aries are better for each other than a Libra and Libra? Also I have read that Libras are big on flirting and so on and that Libra males are always on the look out for something better if it comes long is this true???

Sun Sign Astrology is a fun approach to the subject but not that realistic. When you run a comparison you really have to look at all the planets involved etc in order to see how well two people match. In the case of your ex-girlfriend (I might add that she is really a much stronger Virgo) she does happen to match up better to her Libra friend. You my friend are best to put her behind you and start looking forward to the transits you have coming up later this year for love and romance. Even if she leaves her Libra friends and tries to get back together with you it really isn't worth your while. You match up well to the sign Libra however just not to this one. You also do well with Aries, Gemini, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Aquarius. As for your friend - she is going through a make it or break it period where love is concerned. With regard to her new boyfriend - he is a strong Libra and yes they are flirts and usually looking for someone who is flawless so they do tend to jump to whoever appears to be perfect but in this particular Libras case he has his natal Venus in the sign Scorpio well aspected to his natal Saturn in Cancer and that is usually an indication that he will be devoted to his lover and even possibly jealous and controlling - now that could push her away eventually. As for you - get on with your life and don't look back. She isn't your soul mate.
