For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

I'm a Cancer (7/6/69 2.40 am, Gemini asc.) who's looking for a long-term partner. I tend to look out only for guys of compatible signs, cause I'm thinking that they're the only ones that could yield a healthy long-term relationship. In the last year I find I've been meeting a lot of Libras (clashes with my sun) and Virgos (clashes with my Gemini asc.) but I've not pursued them for the reasons stated. I've read that compatible sun sign relationships are more likely to grow together over the years whereas incompatible sun sign relationships were more likely to grow apart over the years. Am I guilty of Sun sign prejudice (smile), or just taking the astrology thing a little too seriously? Please help.

One thing that most people don't realize is that to use astrology to the degree that is required for the purposes of compatibility you must do a complete astrological comparison between yourself and the person you are interested in. According to the date time and place that you have submitted you are in fact born under the sign Cancer but that's where is ends You have a Taurus ascendant not Gemini, two planets in Virgo well aspected to your Venus in Taurus which makes both Virgo and Taurus a good fit and Uranus in Libra in your fifth house using equal house method and sixth using placidus which means that this sign is better to socialize or work with.
In the area of your chart that deals with partnerships you have the sign Scorpio and this makes that sign Compatible as well. Sagittarius and Gemini fall in your second and eighth house the eighth being dead-end projects and the second an offshoot of the eighth making these signs the least likely especially with the Virgo that you have in your chart. Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, late Capricorn and Pisces should be the better signs for you.

I have an on going struggle with what I should do about my relationship with the man in my life. He is a Leo 1937. I was born February 8, 1946 at 10:16 AM. Here is the problem. We can get along so beautifully and then I do, or say something to upset him. It appears my independence and detachment, upsets him. I try to reassure him that I love him, but I often feel he wants more of me than I can give. He wants to be first and most important in my life. Sharing me with friends is taboo to him. This makes me feel pulled between him and my other pursuits in my life. How can I get around all this? I truly love him, but there is a part of me that I can't control. I MUST have my independence. We have been in a serious relationship for a year. I hope you will answer this letter. I am desperate for some help soon. Thank you for this opportunity to let this out.

You neglected to give me specifics regarding your Leo partner however you did include his year of birth so I can assume that his natal Neptune doesn't play too much havoc with your natal chart. Being polar opposites I can definitely see the attraction. With your strong Aquarius traits you would need a certain amount of freedom to come and go as you please in order to be happy. If he can't allow you this freedom you may have to move on. You are coming into a high cycle during the second half of this year and the first half of next year that will help you where love and romance is concerned. It should allow you to meet someone who may be more in tune to the lifestyle you require and who you can relate to better regarding such matters. If you do decide to stay with your Leo friend this period can also be a favorable time to tell how you feel and that he has to allow you to see your friends and to do the things that you enjoy or you will move on and leave him behind. Unfortunately he appears to be possessive and this is something that will always stand between you if he can't come to terms with it. It is also apparent in your chart that you do attract the type of man who does want to possess you and control you. I am very concerned about my relationship with my daughter born on June 12, 1987 at 8:00 am. I was born on Sept 26, 1964 at 9:20 am. My daughter has been continually endangering herself for the past year and I am greatly concerned about her future, her relationship with me, her siblings and her estranged father. She has runaway from home repeatedly and her education is already jeopardized.Will we maintain the right direction for family life, getting her back to school and enjoying her childhood or must I be resigned to her making such drastic choices so early in her short life? My daughter and I are beginning to open up the doors to a strong bonding relationship but is it enough too late. Should I consider letting her be placed with family relatives or fight, as I have been to keep us together? I want my daughter to be strong where these shady characters don't play an influence in any further decisions she makes for herself but if a major part of the problem is me then I will do what is best for all of us. I realize you don't have a crystal ball but is there something in our charts that may help us understand, allow me to focus on some positive direction.

The problem isn't you. You actually have quite a nice connection to your daughter but that isn't always enough. You can't be with her every waking moment and unfortunately she is making some poor choices for herself that I fear will get worse before they get better. The influences around her that you are referring to will continue over the better part of the next couple of years. She is very sensitive and can be swayed easily. Her chart also indicates moodiness as well and this can spark all sorts of stupid decisions. I don't know that moving her out will do the trick either. She will attract poor company no matter where she's living. Your best bet is probably to build as close a bond as possible with her and hope that you can instill some of your wisdom in her so that she can attempt to make better choices for herself. Sending her to a different school might help. An all girls private school may be the answer if there is one in your area.
