I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.
For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

Dear Eugenia,
I am at a very strange point in my life, which feels very chaotic--sometimes as though it is moving in a positive direction, and sometimes as though it is very stagnant.
I am entering my third year of university, studying art, art history, and German. I'm at a point at which I really need to figure out what it is I want to do long-term. I feel pressure from my family to make this decision (mainly on my mother's side, though my mother and I are almost entirely out-of-touch, as she is with her sister and parents). I also feel internal pressure, as though I may feel more confident and clear-headed if I can make a commitment and develop some sort of plan to pursue my education and career beyond this point. Basically, I am feeling directionless, confused, and as though I have no solid ground to fall back on. I worry a lot about my mother, but cannot stay in contact with her, as she is experiencing a time of sever financial difficulties and, as a result, has no phone line, disallowing contact by phone or email. (She was born August 11, 1950.) All I can say about my desires for the future is that I want to be involved in art --the only thing that is truly fulfilling for me. I would love to be a professional artist, but that is risky and I do not want to put myself into a situation of financial despair. I have seen both of my parents struggle throughout my entire life thus far.
In addition to these feelings, I am having a difficult time romantically. I have been seeing a man (born February 6th, 1977) for about 6 months. Though we connect very well intellectually, we are both very busy. I have a hectic work, school and homework schedule, while he is very social and constantly has plans to go out with friends, which he views as obligations. He therefore has little time to spend with me during the time I actually have free and is frustrated that I never want to go out and party with him and his friends. I think that, due to our different lifestyles, we may not be able to reconcile this, though I care for him very much and when we are together, he seems to feel the same way. My luck with men isn't too good and upon our initially getting together, I was excited to finally meet someone I could connect with, who was intelligent, observant, and who seemed to share so many interests.
Do you see any end to the constant stress, chaos and frustration resulting from my present life and relationships, as well as my attempting to sort out my future endeavors?
Please help! I am so confused and freaked-out by every aspect of my life right now!! I was born Oct. 22, 1981 at 1:45 PM.

You are a strong Libra. All your natal planets in that sign are in an area of your chart that deals with higher education, travel, philosophy, immigration and different cultures. That being said it isn't surprising that you are waffling about your future and your educational pursuits. I believe however that you must get on with it and finish whatever you have already begun. Your chart indicates that you should be in school or at least in a learning environment for the next two years although I do believe that you will be able to pick up work in the field of your choice beginning next year. This could lead to an apprenticeship, learning on the job or working and continuing your education. I believe that it is important to follow your dream however it is also necessary to support your addiction to your art/dream/etc. You are still young and have time. I wish your business' success. While I have been admiring Eugenia Last and wishing one day I could see her, I came across the article about launching the Korean astrology site. I registered and I have been using the service well in real life. And I had a chance to really meet Eugenia. I would like to thank again the astroeast.com manager and other staff for preparing the event. My question for Eugenia is this. I am changing jobs. I was born April 28, 1969, 7:30-8:30pm. I am working in an association. I'd like to quit my job as soon as possible and work in an insurance company. You told me at the forum that I could change my job between now and next Feb, but I am thinking of changing my job as soon as possible. I'd like to know when is the best date and whether I can succeed financially or not. My wife is a vet and she is asking me to be her partner. You should try to make your move in the next four weeks if possible however if it isn't you still have opportunities between now and April 21, 2001. Regarding joining your wife's business I'm not sure that working with your wife would be the best situation for you. Although your comparison is quite good I believe that you both think very differently and this could create a problem. The work and money area of her chart does look prosperous over the course of the next couple of years however where partnerships are concerned it doesn't appear to be as favorable for either one of you. If you were to start your own business during the last quarter of next year and incorporate what you do into being a consultant to your wife's business, that might work. I believe that you should make your jump into another company soon. One that you feel will enable you to make money and will also help you learn the skills you require in order to eventually start your own consulting business on the side late next year or the first half of the year 2002.

I really don't know how to dress this up to sound any different than a million other peoples problem but my financial situation has been so bad for so long now I really am losing all hope of ever getting back up off the floor. I really do value your input as you correctly told me the outcome of a relationship I thought was rock solid.
I'm a divorced dad, live alone and have a mountain of debt thanks to loans to keep myself afloat. Trouble is I'm sinking again. And please believe me when I tell you I am careful with money to the point of boredom.
Do you see any point for me to keep coming back or is this my lot in life?

There does appear to be some relief just around the corner. The transit began August 10th and will continue with you until October 9th. It denotes that you can make some financial changes through career choices. You should be trying to do one of two things or both. Pick up another job or look for one that will pay you more and although you may say been there, tried that, in the past it probably would not have done you any good but over the course of the next two months it is apparent that you should be able to up your income if you apply for a better position or take on an extra job. That will at least help you get out of the hole you are in. With Mars being closest to the earth that it has been in 60,000 years and Jupiter quickly moving into the sign Jupiter opposite Mars there is a lot of anxiety that people are undergoing right now. In your case it does fall in an area that deals with how you earn your living and what you do with the money you earn. I do believe that you are careful with your cash but I also believe that there are other means that you can take to make your money stretch. The area of your chart that deals with investments is stabilizing and where property, dealing with other people's money, taxes rebates, insurance surrenders, inheritances, winnings and coming into money that you don't physically work for is now moving into a much higher cycle. This can also be a time that you discover that you have an asset that you either forgot about or that you realize you can turn over in order to consolidate your debt. You must be creative in your financial thinking and don't be afraid to invest a little in yourself. You may be able to offer a service on the side that will enable you to turn some of the negatives in your life into positives. I know that your chart has gone through some very difficult times financially the past two to three years but put that behind you and start to concentrate on what you have to offer. Now is the time to make your moves my friend. You have two months to do so. Don't give up now when the tables are just about to turn. It's up to you to initiate these changes and make them so.
