This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.

Dear Eugenia,

I am in love with a guy that 'fired' me and dumped me all in the same day. He was attempting to teach me how to drive as a trucker. We remained friends for 2 weeks. I am trying to get into a truck driving school, I asked him if I could borrow one of his vehicles, the school is out of state and I have no vehicle of my own. He is so boiling mad and fuming that I even asked that question! He is not my friend anymore, he says, that I was using him, which I was not. But yet, he would like to know how I am doing in school, and also said that he is still quite fond of me. He will not even consider any kind of friendship with me until after he is over being mad at me. He wants no contact from me, but said to email him or call him when I am in school. He said that after I am in school, we would take it from there. Am I getting mixed signals or what? We were together for 5 weeks on the road; not understanding how you can fire someone you weren't even paying.....I have no idea how long it will take him to get over being mad at me; or if there is a chance of winning back his friendship. I was born on 6/22/60 at 10:32 am. He was born 9/8/61. Do I hold any hope of ever regaining his friendship and maybe a relationship again? Thank you.

The comparison certainly had some hot connections. It is apparent that emotionally and physically you do hook up but mentally there will be problems. Arguments and misunderstandings can be expected. I believe that this could turn out to be one of those love/hate relationships where you can't live with or without the other person. Back up, slow down and start all over. When you finish your trucker's course contact him and try to keep everything open, honest and amiable. If you can do so you may stand a chance at making this one work. Article: Pull Yourself Together

Dear Ms. Eugenia:

I would like an idea of how soon my troubles will last. On August 30, my husband was shot in an attempted mugging. He now has a bullet logged in his back. Fortunately, the bullet did not hit any vital organs, however it does rest less than an inch from his spine. Needless to say, it has caused much anxiety and stress. During his recovery, it was up to me to keep up on all household expenses. Doing everything on one income caused many bills to be put on hold. Hence, late charges, penalties etc. etc. And of course, more stress.

At the end of this month (October) I knew I would finally be "caught up" with all of those bills. My husband has recovered nicely (even though the bullet remains) and I was thanking the higher powers that all was soon to be well once again - until, two days ago, my oldest daughter informed me of a date rape that had also taken place on August 30. Due to the incident mentioned above, she didn't tell me immediately because she saw how the other things were affecting me (she and I are very close). Unfortunately, the rape has led to a pregnancy, soon to be terminated. She is only 15 years old. My doctor had to prescribe a sedative to keep me sane (something I have never, ever had to do before). It is stressing me to no end to think what she is about to go through, hence the sedative. My only question is, based on the position at the time of my birth August 20, 1968, at 3:00 PM can you please give me some idea of how much longer this "negative" cycle will last?

Article: Working for Yourself

Dear Eugenia,

I was born in Taipei on 5th November 1973 between 1-3am. I am an engineer specialising in the research and development of programming, circuit design and etc. I have worked for two companies during the past five years. I am working for this company for one year. I feel that I am underpaid compared to the hard work I've contributed. When I have creative ideas or developed new products, my boss always tells me that they would be difficult to sell to the market.

I know some people through freelance jobs. Recently, A friend of mine plans to set up a new company and would like me to join him offering me a high salary. Although I would like to take the challenge, I am afraid that the new company is not established and not sure how long it will survive. If it does close down, then I have to start all over again. I cannot make a decision. Can you analysis for me according to my characters or career opportunities?

I always felt that I have the ability and should have better professional development, but I am afraid to quit the job I have for an unknown future. Your future looks bright. You have some wonderful ideas however to people like your current boss you are a little ahead of your time. You have a strong chart that indicates that you should be your own boss. Your friend that wants to start up his own business and hire you for big dollars should be considering making you a partner instead of an employee. You will eventually form your own business and probably take his clients with you if he doesn't offer you the right deal. As for your current position I feel that you will have problems with superiors, employers and authority figures for the next year. You will be in a high cycle regarding doing your own thing and starting your own business beginning next June. You should start putting things into place now. Continue to work for the company you are with or work for your friend for the time being however don't lose sight of your future expectation. Although it won't be easy going you can be successful if you push hard professionally over the course of the next four years.
