Although I have been out of the dating scene for some time, I'm ready to get back in. As has happened in the past, a much younger man has expressed an interest in me. I am quite attracted to him, but I found myself so wrapped up in uncertainty about his motives (I just couldn't believe he was interested in someone my age)that I overanalyzed the situation and ended up not even being able to be hospitable the one time we got together (at least in hindsight I think I wasn't). We do see each other for professional reasons quite regularly and I've managed, at least in that arena, to keep things light and friendly. Is it possible he is actually interested? I'm afraid of looking like an old fool, but would really like to dump this attitude. I was born July 9, 1950 at 8:30 pm.

You didn?t mention when your friend was born so I really can?t tell you what his intentions are. I do believe however that you attract people who are much younger or much older and that you do better with partners who have an age difference than you do with those born too close to the year you were born. The trend older woman younger man has been growing increasing over the past decade and I believe that you really can?t make age a deciding factor as to whether you date someone or not. I have in the last several years come out of my denial as a person and become more conscious. In the past however, I have not always made the best choices in relationships. I either stayed too long or left too soon. I am attractive and interesting but am wondering if astrologically there will be better times in the future for relationships than the present. Things seem to be difficult for love and money at this time. In the past things seemed to happen more naturally but now I just seem to be sitting on the "fence of life" When will I jump off. You are going through a period that can cloud your perception especially where relationships are concerned and therefore sitting on the fence may not be a bad idea for now. You can however put your efforts into areas that are positive in your life. Consider making new friends by getting involved in organizations you believe in. Perhaps volunteering to help campaign for a political group. You need to be spending time with others and that doesn't mean looking for love. Building solid friendships is where it's at for you right now. That can be with either gender. Lovers come and go but family is with you forever. The comparison with your Cancer man wasn't bad however sorrow does appear when it comes to dealing with your family and the possibility that he can become physical aggressiveness with you is evident as well. It is important for you to be honest with your family and ask them to at least meet this man and not judge him by his voice. If your family still feels strongly that he is not the one for you consider that they might be picking up on the fact that he does have some traits that might not be too favorable. You may be blind to his defects because you are in love with him.
