I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.

For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.

I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

Dear Eugenia,

Thank you for providing this service for self-exploration. These days my computer is on auto pilot to your I Ching feature; although he has proven insightful, I would like the chance of experiencing the human element of your web site.Here goes.... My husband and I are both Aries, and have totally different personality traits. I was born 24/03/1960, at 2 AM. My husband birth date is 22/03/1961, I do not know his time of birth. I am energetic, motivated, outgoing, competitive; he is passive, laid back, doesn't like change. When we were married in 1981, we moved over 1000 miles away from our birthplace and families. Since 1981 to now, we have experienced a lot of life, from our youngest son being diagnosed with Cancer, to loosing my father. Right now, we are in a position to re-evaluate our career paths, and move closer to home. In the small northern community that we live in, the health and education systems are in shambles. We decided last March to let our eldest son have the opportunity to go to a boarding school. He loved it, and will be returning this September. For me, it is very hard to have my 15-year-old son living away from home. I have taken the initiative of "doing" a resume for my husband and have sent it out to several places... and telling him after the fact. He is now getting responses for interviews. You see, the company that he works for is re-evaluating their economic viability, and have closed down operations for one year, while still maintaining all staffing levels. We are in limbo. He came home from work the other night, and said there was a job posting up for a job he would really like to apply for at this "Limbo Company", and that he liked to be "comfortable". I need change, and to be with my family... Does this mean DIVORCE COURT!!!

Just because you are born under the same sun sign does not mean that you have to be alike. A personalized chart is like your thumbprint. There are several differences that stand out between you and your husband's charts even without having his birth time. I wouldn't be surprised however if he were born around the noon hour giving him a Cancer ascendant. If this is the case I suspect that he will be moving along with you and not staying put. This could be because he gets an interesting offer from one of the companies you sent his resume to or because he does not get the job at the Limbo Company. You match up too well to have divorce enter the picture, as I'm sure you are well aware. Changes are apparent and the opportunity to make a move looks good. I'd be putting your house on the market if you own it or looking for a place to live closer to your birth place come October with hopes of selling your house or making your move sometime before the end of the year.

Dear Eugenia,

I am a 27-year-old Pisces born February 28, 1976, at 5:30 PM and I have recently been made aware of 'Saturn Return' in my chart? This could explain my exhaustion and frustration over the last couple of years. I am tired of being self-employed, I realize it has taken away from my social life and financially I am just hanging on. I have recently interviewed for summer work to alleviate the stresses, with no luck. Though I seem at peace with life I don't have the securities my peers have, career, social and romantic stability. I do admit I would like to settle down. Is it this 'Saturn Return' that is affecting my life? Will it go away? At this point, any advice or words of hope would help.

Your Saturn return hasn't begun yet. Although you will start to feel the impact of your Saturn return over the next year it will actually have the strongest affect on you between late August of next year (2004) and will remain with you for approximately one year ending late July 2005. During that time you will reevaluate your life and make decisions based on the way you feel about your past. It is a pivotal point in a person's life when Saturn returns. Some people do well with it because they take the initiative, make the necessary changes and proceed in a positive and upward motion. Others find it overwhelming and decide that what they have achieved is all life has to offer and that they are too old to make changes - which I might add is ridiculous and a cop out. As for you I do not see your Saturn return as being that much of a problem. Regarding what has been causing you all the friction the past several years I would have to say is transiting Uranus and Neptune moving through the sign Aquarius. You were born with your Moon, Mercury and Venus in that sign in an area of your chart that does deal with work. Unfortunately it has played havoc with you and although it isn't over yet I do believe that you will always go back to doing your own thing. You are innovative, creative and have a good chart when it comes to work and money. If you want to work for someone else that is fine. You should be able to land a decent job shortly. I might suggest however that you do try to keep your business running on the side. I feel that if you do it will pick up giving you the satisfaction you need. As for your social, personal and home life - well that is where transiting Saturn has been affecting your life the past couple of years putting a damper on relationships and in general your social life. You will be coming into a much higher cycle regarding such matters as transiting Saturn moves into the sign Cancer coupled with Uranus which has just moved briefly into the sign Pisces opening up all sorts of new opportunities and changes regarding both business and personal partnerships. Dear Eugenia,

I am at a very strange point in my life, which feels very chaotic--sometimes as though it is moving in a positive direction, and sometimes as though it is very stagnant.

I am entering my third year of university, studying art, art history, and German. I'm at a point at which I really need to figure out what it is I want to do long-term. I feel pressure from my family to make this decision (mainly on my mother's side, though my mother and I are almost entirely out-of-touch, as she is with her sister and parents). I also feel internal pressure, as though I may feel more confident and clear-headed if I can make a commitment and develop some sort of plan to pursue my education and career beyond this point. Basically, I am feeling directionless, confused, and as though I have no solid ground to fall back on. I worry a lot about my mother, but cannot stay in contact with her, as she is experiencing a time of sever financial difficulties and, as a result, has no phone line, disallowing contact by phone or email. (She was born August 11, 1950.) All I can say about my desires for the future is that I want to be involved in art --the only thing that is truly fulfilling for me. I would love to be a professional artist, but that is risky and I do not want to put myself into a situation of financial despair. I have seen both of my parents struggle throughout my entire life thus far.

In addition to these feelings, I am having a difficult time romantically. I have been seeing a man (born February 6th, 1977) for about 6 months. Though we connect very well intellectually, we are both very busy. I have a hectic work, school and homework schedule, while he is very social and constantly has plans to go out with friends, which he views as obligations. He therefore has little time to spend with me during the time I actually have free and is frustrated that I never want to go out and party with him and his friends. I think that, due to our different lifestyles, we may not be able to reconcile this, though I care for him very much and when we are together, he seems to feel the same way. My luck with men isn't too good and upon our initially getting together, I was excited to finally meet someone I could connect with, who was intelligent, observant, and who seemed to share so many interests.

Do you see any end to the constant stress, chaos and frustration resulting from my present life and relationships, as well as my attempting to sort out my future endeavors?

You are a strong Libra. All your natal planets in that sign are in an area of your chart that deals with higher education, travel, philosophy, immigration and different cultures. That being said it isn't surprising that you are waffling about your future and your educational pursuits. I believe however that you must get on with it and finish whatever you have already begun. Your chart indicates that you should be in school or at least in a learning environment for the next two years although I do believe that you will be able to pick up work in the field of your choice beginning next year. This could lead to an apprenticeship, learning on the job or working and continuing your education.
